If sea levels were rising, wouldn't the acreage of coastal salt marshes increase? Are they?

The most important two examples here are actually quite old. They were high land depositied by the Mississippi river about 1,000 to 2,000 years ago. They were so high they pushed the Mississippi River West to the current mouth of the river. Prior to this move the river entered the sea about Slidel Louisiana. Fresh water went all the way out to the big coastal island chain known as the Chandeleur Islands and Chandeleur Sound was fairly high ground and sank to become a salt marsh and then sank further to become Chandeleur Sound. Lake Pontchartrain just west of this was high ground as well.

Hurricane Andrew hit the coast of Florida and a rather curious chain of events happened. It let loose pythons from private owners. They have thrived in the Everglades. This has collapsed the wild bird populations like Egrets and also Alligator populations in the area. The net result along with South Florida irrigation canals was a disruption of the salt marshes of the area. It has caused amazing changes there. Again this isn’t sea level rise. I bet you never imagined pythons could sink land but they did and not a little bit. This is a major problem in Florida. But again it must be stated this isn’t sea level change. This event is spreading into Georgia, Alabama Lousiana, Mississippi and Texas and soon to South Carolina and North Carolina and it is SNAKES.

Additionally the withdrawal of oil/natural gas from deposits near sea coasts removes massive quantities of water along with the volumes of oil and natural gas. These cause further subsidence. There are many places around the world where such subsidence has been most dramatic.

Worse yet the whole delusion that “Climate Change’ is going on and is some existential threat is preventing our young people from seeing their real situation and preventing them from growing up and making a real difference positively for mankind and for nature. I could list for you some really big issues that need all the brains we can find to reduce them and instead the kids heads are getting illed with the “Woke Mind Virus” and its pollution of thought. Such mind are unless they break out of this more of a problem than our natural problems.

There is no existential threat from Climate Change or from Sea Level Rise. There is a real danger from this mind pollution that is going on from the Political Leftists who latch onto every delusion they see and make it their life’s work.

So don’t go casting about for some wonderful ideas about coastal marsh changes due to sea level rise.

Natural Gas and Oil extraction has lowered much of the Gulf of Mexico coastal areas of the USA. This is one of the reasons Florida doesn’t allow oil/gas extraction from their waters.

In North American history the invention of the moldboard plow by Thomas Jefferson allowed the breaking of the grasslands of the Central Mississippi River Valley and it to be farmed.

This example is probably one of the more obvious ones about what is going on. All deltaic river entries into the seas are undergoing this. As people channelize rivers to make them not flood their cities, the land dewaters and sinks. Again this is not sea level rise, it is land subsidence.

The problem we have with the “Climate Change” religion is they cast about for “proof” for their dogma and they latch onto this dynamic process and see land sinking. The land south of the Yellow line on the map (approximately) is sinking quite fast at this time. The reason for this was a set of events in the settlement of North America.

The USA has for the most part adopted erosion control means, methods and devices such that the Mississippi river is generally not transporting even its pre Columbian levels of sediment to the delta. As such the subsidence is pretty amazing going on. IT IS NOT SEA LEVEL RISE even though NOAA reports it as such.

In Alabama in the Warrior Coalfield gas extraction the water table has been lowered by 2000 feet and the land in places while not salt marshes has subsided up to 300 feet (100m approx) This is not a small area. In the Warrior Coalfields the area is about 5,000 square miles (12,950 sq/km) There are entire nations that are smaller than that!

Are there many people here who suffer from schizophrenia?

Well this is a legitimate question and the areas of coastal salt marshes are changing but it isn’t climate change. Let’s take a look at one of the most amazing examples of this on earth.

Coupled with the Coulter (round disc cutter plow) Shown here as a set in modern format, broke the Praire sod. This caused due to the ignorance of erosion the loss of about 3 feet of the coverages of the entire valley which flowed into the sea by 1850. This expanded the area of the State of Louisiana about 30% or so. Today that muck is dewatering due to many causes including a canal across southern Louisiana which cuts off the fresh water flow. It is also happening because the Mississippi river now dumps about 50% of its water into the sea via the Achafalaya River.

The processes of our world are not some simple set of things. Actually this is why I am so deeply against the “Climate Change” Cult. This death cult is preventing us from seeing our real problems and really dealing with them properly. We have genuine problems which need more resources to deal with them than we know and much more than we currently have. These resources are being sucked into delusional schemes of the profiteers of “Climate Change.”

What are some difficulties in a JEE aspirant's life?

This issue of salt marsh changes is not subtile and it is not “Climate Change” or “Sea-Level Rise” it is other causes entirely. Similar effects are going on around the world. Since nearly 90% of the world’s population lives within 100 miles of the sea coast this isn’t going to be a minor event, but it not at all related to CO2 either. In fact CO2 is against this subsidence. It causes plants to thrive in waterways spreading out the water and causing it to sink in and to drop it’s silt in the delta near land.
